The beautiful setting, surrounded by woods and rivers, provided a tranquil escape from the hustle and bustle of modern life. The attentive and friendly team made every effort to ensure my comfort and cater to my needs, despite the language barrier. I especially enjoyed the cozy bar-lounge with its inviting fireplace, perfect for unwinding after a day of exploring the expansive 3,000 hectares of unique vegetation surrounding the hotel.One highlight was the opportunity to discover the abundance of herbaceous plants and observe wild deer roaming freely, a rare treat in France. The spacious rooms, each with its own character, offered a peaceful retreat, while the pool and spa amenities added a touch of luxury to my stay. Hotel De l'Illwald provided a delightful blend of nature, history, and hospitality, making it a memorable destination for those seeking a cultural immersion in the heart of the Alsatian countryside.
